In the years 1926-1933 he studied in the Warsaw School of Fine Arts under Felicjan Szczpsny
Kowarski and Karol Tichy; next, he became engaged in advertising graphic art and collaborated with
Tadeusz Trepkowski. In 1936 he left for France, then for London, where he settled for good.
A painter, initially close to the programme of the Parisian Committee, he went through the fasci-
nation with impressionism, to become subsequently interested in the "new figuration". He prac-
tised also wall-painting (realizations, a. o., at the Durham University) and book illustration.
