cation». A first trace of the crack running to the horse’s hoof barely visible. Slightly

This well-known and estimated woodcut in such completeness belongs to
the greatest rarities of the Duerer-work.

B. 136, M. 2731. The eminently rare first edition with the heading in five
lines, beginning: «Nach Christus gepurt. 1513.. .» A superb, sharp and clear
impression without any trace of the beginning crack. With two printing-
creases and two little tears strengthened at the back, otherwise in very fine fresh con-
dition. Watermark: anchor in a circle. From the King Frederick August of Saxony
