bearing Eaft, difiant 14 leagues. She
had f died from Bred on the 3d, with
La Fine, L' Aigrette, and La, Dilig-
ente, to cruize for a fortnight off
Scilly. The Chevalier dd Grimouard
who commanded her did, not ftrike
till fhe had been for about an hour

fo near -each other, the few fhot
fired by the frigate in the caurfe of
that time neccfiarily took place, by '
which the Courageux had 10 men
killed, and 7 wounded. The fore-
jmaft, mizsn-maft, and bowfprit,
are damaged. On board La Minerve,
Morif. Andrieu, one of the Lieu-
tenants, and 49 nem, were killed,
and 25 wounded, anaongft whom it
is with great concern that I mention
the Chevalieir Grimouard and his
nephew Monf. Noffay, both I fear
very dangeroufiy. All her mMi

Hull much damaged. The Valiant
