Dear Professor Wolf:

The rules of the Astronomical union
now permit us to ask the co-operation of astron-
omers, even though the countries to which they
belong have not yet joined the union. 1 should
like to ask you to suggest to me some German as-
tronomer who would be a useful member of the com-
mission on notations and units of which 1 am the
president, ur. prager* s name has occurred to me
because of his work in connection with variable
stars, but perhaps you can suggest someone who
would be even better for us to have on this Com-
mission.

I was in Germany for a few days in Sep-
tember and saw most of my friends in merlin and
Hamburg, i regret that it was not possible for me
to come through neideiberg this year and to repeat
the very pleasant visit that i had with you in 1929.
This time 1 did not forget my barometer or my slippers
anywhere in Europe.
