THE 'WILL' NEEDED

The last seison gave an idea of the poor
tourist traffic to this part of our country.
It is true the road condition was unusually
bad this time but even then it' proper
care would have been taken to attract
tourists, ' the roid condition woul 1 not have
much stood in the wav.

We have been repeatedly drawing
the attention of the local authorities to
this very impprtant aspect ol our life
here, but it seems we have not been able
to impress them. Or possibly they have
not the time to look into these affairs for
we understand 1 hat a move was made by
the state government in this direction and
local authorities were requested to furnish
details of schemes necessary for the im-
provement in tourist traffic to this place.
The public too has been silent in the
matter notwithstanding the pressing need
of the taking up of this scheme without
any further delay. -

The preliminary thing is to set up
a committee of some enthusiastic people
of the locality which will go into the
details of bringing about improvements in
the locality. The recommendations of the
committee will be put up before the local
bodies and the state government and wavs
and means will be evolved to materialise
the scheme. There is no dirlh of Asso-
ciations in the locality and any one of
them can come forward to organise the-
new committee.

People who come to this place
complain of many things. The place
does, no hold anv charm to them .except
that they can feed their eyes on the

majesty of the snows so nicely set out
on. the northern horizon, liven in this
there is the difficulty that no sheltered
place is reserved from where the scenes
can he conveniently, seen. .

It is never too late to begitj a thing
and it will go to the better interest of
the locality and its people if some scheme
to attract tourist traffic: n.ilP immediately
