PEOPLE ON MOUNTAIN WALKS

The secular and spiritual edicts of

would otherwise have to seek permission
for an interview through an official, the
Dronyer Chempo, who scrutinizes all
application. The Dalai Lama has still
to vis.t a special cave where Ueshe
Kimpuchu once meditated and where
Ch.....hi valley people believe that the

Nigyur or Snowman fed the Geshe
Rimpnche.

The Dongkar Monastery is ti* e and
a hall miles lrom Vatung village on
the road lrom Yatung to Lhasa and is
situated on a bluff overlooking the
magnificent plain of Lingmathai.g. The
monastery is the largest in Tromo, as
the territory is known.
