Mr Keith Sprigg visi-
ted Kalimpong last year
to study the phonetieal
aspect of the Tibetan
language for the School
of Oriental and African
Studies, Cniversity of
Loudon. Mr. Sprigg visi-
ted tivantse, Tibet, during
the course of his studies
Icrc. He is now in Lon-
don, studying Lcpcha.

No Confidence in Gurkha
League

Kalimpong N'ov. 1".
The dissenting group
of Ourkba leaders to-day
held a meeting which
passed a vote of no con-
fidence in the present All
India tiurkha League lea-
ders and elected Sri P. S.
Kumai, who has resigned
from the Gurkha League
General Committee, as
president. He was empo-
wered to form an action

committee.

Mr. Ivumai said, in
an interview, that his party
stood for co-operation
with the Congress while
tpeecbea at the recent
tiurkha League erection
meeting introduced dan-
gerous talk of tae merger
of Daijeeling District w ith
'greater Nepal". This was
against the national
interests.

Jeep Owners Fined

Kalimpong, Nov. 20.
An owner—driver of
a jeep was fined Rs 500 -
on 17th inst. by the local
S.D.O. for canying passen-
gers in his jeep. In ano-
tin r case similar nature
an owner and a driver
have beau fined Rg 2.">0 -
each.
