OUR DIRTY ROADS
Sir, It is brought to the notice of
the local Municipality that something
Ought to be done to keep the roadside
drain and tin' khud side of the I'pper
Cart toad between the thana & the
junction of roads a quarter mile above
in a sanitary condition At present there
nre some 8 small roadside stalls where
Oranges, l'an, I'.iri and China Hidain
and other seasonal fruit and vegetable*
are sold daily. I>aiiy the number is
increasing and the nuisance treated by
th" sweepers simply shoving the sweepings
either into the drain of throwing them
on to the khud side, is daily getung
worse and worse.
The stink is dreadful between the
I liana a and the approat h _'o the court,
it seems that there is a diatillary some-
where trod) where t!ie rotten smell comes
from the stuff that is left rotting in
the diain.
It is really a shame that the
portion of the lea l mostly used by Ihe
public when going to Municipal office.

state. The weper in charg" shout I be
sacked or better supervision should be
enforced. Kvidently no one bothers as
long as rate pivirs pay their taxes
tamely, one day If thing* dou t improve,
