office on the 23rd inst and
also visited today he Pedong
and Algarha p-trol posts.
He leaves for Calcutta to-
morrow morning.

The Dalai Lama and
the Tibetan Cabinet, under
pressure of the Chinese
authorities in Lhasa are
said to have removed from
Tibet’s highest office as
Silon, or Prime Minister
Silon Lukhang and his monk
colleague on the ground
that Lukhang supported
Tibet’s representations to
the Chinese to quit Tibet,
state the latest reports
circulating in Tibet.
Lukhang is supposed
to be one of the abalest
statesman of Tibet, well
known for his integrity for
which reason he was placed
in charge of Lhasa’s
administration when the
Dalai Lama left his capital
for Yatung last year.

of Greece and Denmark and
Monsieur H. Landy, French
Consul General in India
have left here yesterday
for a twelve day tour of
Sikkim which will include
the Jelep La and Nathu La.
Since the Chinese entry
into Tibet touring in Sikkim
was reported to be restricted
to Central and Western Si-
kkim and this permit to tour
up to jelep La and Nathu
La is considered to have
been given as a special case.
FOREIGNERS FINED
UNDER INDIAN
PASSPORT ACT.

Four Chinese Nationals
from Tibet were prosecuted
in the Kutehery-three under
Foreigners’ Registration Act
and one under Indian
Passport Act.
They were fined Rs. 15/-
each and Government of
India have been moved to
sanction their deportation
out of India. The froutier
police have been doing good
work in detection of such
cases.
Dalai Lama from Lhasa,
Silon Lukhang maintained
Tibetan morale and peace
in the city while tie Sino
Tibetan Traety was being
negotiated, and it is sail
that his removal from office
is deeply resented by the
Lhasa public.

According to the terms
of the agreement there
should be communal parity
between the two main
communities as far as
practicable in the Five
nominated seats of the
proposed Council and of
12 elective seats there
should be reservation of
6 elected for each of
Lepcha-cum Bhutia and
Nepali communities. The
agreement further provided
that for the six Bhutia-
Lepcha elective seats there
should be primary election
of 12 candidates by only
Bhutia-Lepcha voters and
in the interim Government
that was proposed to be
associated with the Dewan
there should be 2 Bhutia-
cum-Lepcha and 2 Nepalis.
On the other hand, it
is reported, the Nationalist
Party is seeking political
alliances with the newly
formed Scheduled Caste
Party and Monasteries
Association.
