NEW SCALE FOR AMMUNITIONS

Darjeeling, July 1G

The following Notice is issued by Sri S Dutt
Mazumdar, Deputy Commissioner, Darjeeling.

In view of the improvement in the
stock position of ammunitions with the
dealers within this district my previous
order dated 18/8/50 restricting the sale
of ammunitions requires to be modified.

Therefore in exercise of the powers
conferred on me under the Indian Arms
Act (Act XI of 1878) the following order
is passed with immediate effect in partial
modification of my privious orders until
further orders.

ORDER

The scale of issue of ammunitions
and gun powder shall henceforth be as
follows

1. 100 (one hundred) shot gun cartri-
dges at a time and 2U0 (two hundred)
cartridges during the calender year.

2. 50 (fifty) rounds of rifle ammuni-
tions at a lime and 100 (one hundred)
rounds during the calender year.

3. 25 (twentyfive) rounds of pistol/
revolver ammunitions at a time and 50
(fifty) rounds during the calender year.

4. No limit in respect of .22 bore
weapon.

5. (a) 2 lbs. of gun powder at a time

and 4 lbs. of gun powder during
the calender year.

(b) 100 (one hundred; purcusion caps
at a time and 200 (two hund-
red) purcusion caps during the
calender year.

Any licensee requiring more ammuni-
tion than the prescribed quota musffiapply
to me for a special permit which is to
be issued under my signature.

Any dealer, found to be selling car-
tridges and gun powder in quantities
more than the prescribed quota in viola
tion of this order shall be punishale
under the Act.

NOTICE

Sealed Tenders are invited from
approved contractors of the Kalimpong
Municipality for preliminary site prepara-
tion for the proposed municipal office
building on plot No. 13/447 D. A., Kalim-
pong in ward X at an estimated cost
of Rs. 3,421/- before 4-30 p. in. oi the
29th Jmy, J952.

Rates may be quoted at par, below &
above the current schedule of rates of
the C. & W. D., Kalimpong Sub-Division.
Northern Circle which has been adopted
by this Municipality.

Tender forms should be obtained
from municipal office one day previous
to the date of tender.

Further particulars may be obtained
from the municipal office during office
hours or from public notice board.

left, now I know I’ll get back someday.”
You’d meet those people...ordinary
people like us. There are lots of them.
Then too you’d see places like Burma,
Malaya and Indo-China. You’d see all
those places that are now twisted and torn
by the violence of war. May be then
you would see more. You’d find out
that those same people now fighting and
dying are people like ourselves. People
who lived peacefully in all those places.
People who at one time—just like you
people here in Kalimpong today—never
jealized what Communism really stood
for. No one seemed to care. They
care now.
