KALIMPONG MISSION INDUSTRIES
ASSOCIATION
Directors Report for the year ending
31st March 1952.
We have pleasure in presenting the
Accounts for the year ended 31st March
1952 which show a net loss of Rs.
1,610-12-8.
While this loss is regretted it is
to be noted that it is much Jess than
in some recent years, and that the subs-
tantial progress made has rendered the
position of the Association much more
stable.
The year under review shows an
increase in sales of Rs. 8,324-6-4 over
the last year. The improvement in trade
was due largely to the help rendered
by the Civil Supply and Forest Depart-
ment in making available larger supplies
of cotton yarns and timber, our basic
raw materials. Thanks are duff also to
the workers and S;aff for their loyalty
and hard work in combating many
difficulties.
Governments Grant —The Govern-
ment Grant has been maintained at Rs.
600/- monthly as lor the previous two
years, in addition a lump sum grant
of Rs. 800,- was received. We desire
to express our thanks' to the Director
of Industries for the grants without
which many deserving boys and girls
would be unable to recei e the technical
training in hand loom weaving, lepcha
handweaving, sewing and embroidery,
