Dikcliu, (Sikkim) Dec. II
TI10 sixth annual
session of the Sikkim State-
Congress was held at
Dikchu thirteen miles north
of Gangtok on Dec. 8 9
& 10, 1952. 103 delegates
from all corners of Sikkim
attended the session. Sri
Tashi Tsering was elected
president for the seventh
year in succession. In the
absence of Sri Tashi Tse-
ring on account of ill health
Sri Kashiraj iTadhan Vice-
president of the out going
Congress Committee presi-
ded over the session. On
Dec. 10, the presidential
election was attended by
about one thousand people.
The first resolution de-
manded earliest possible
establishment of popular
responsible Govt in Sikkim.
Resolution two demanded
clarification by Dec. 21
of Maharaj Kumar’s repor-
ted participation in parfy
polities. The State Cong-
ress has to decide its
course of action in a
meeting to be held at
Singtam on Dee. 23. Reso-
lution three demanded
V repudiation of all agree-
ments between the Con-
gress and Nationalists in
case of any further delay
in the finalisation of elec-
tion rules and programme
in Sikkim also demanding
joint and non communial
elections in Sikkim before
