In a written reply to a question in the
House' of the People on 2nd irist, by Ku-
mari Annie Mascarene, M.P., the Finance
Minister, Shri C. D. Dcshmukh, gave the
following information on the various
currencies In circulation: .
On the 31st December, 1.952, tlie total
circulation .of King’s Head notes exclu-
ding notes ,of the denominational value
of Rs 100 was about Its. 5SG crores-aiicf
the total circulation of Asoka Pillar de-
sign notes excluding notes of the deno-
minational value of Rs 100 was Rs. 39
erores-. The total circulation of notes of
the denominational value- of, Rs. 100 of
both designs was about Rs 488 erores.
The Separate figures relating to notes of
the 'domihational value of Rs. 100 of
j King’s Head design and. of As.oktt Pillar
j design are not readily available.
