Kalimpong April 15

The 2nd Annual Prize
distribution ceremony of
the Kalimpong (iovt. High
School, was held in the
local Town Hall on 11-4 53
which was presided over
by Sri S. Dutt Mazumdar,

Dutt Mazumdar gave away
the prizes

The performances of
the boys were very much,
entertaining to the audien-
ce wnich consisted of
mostly parents and guar,
aians of the students. Sri
S Dutt Mazumdar in his
presidential spe c’n congra-
tulated the Head Ma-tcr
Sri K. B. Gurung for his
untiring efforts to improve
the school and particularly
for the extri eurricu'um
which h • had introduced
in the school ior village
welfare woiks and the
news bulletin. He referred
to the visit of the school
by the Governor of West
Bengal Dr H. ' ^lookher-
jee last year who appre-
ciated the work of the Head
Master. The Governor had
felt the need of shifting
the school to some other
building where more acco
mmodation and spacio is
compound for playground
eto. could be hid About
this Sri Dutt Mazumdar
said that he had every
hope that something would
be done in this direction.

WORLD HEALTH PAY IN
KALIMPONG
Kalimpong, April 15

A public meeting was
held on 7th April 11103
in the local Town Hall
to celebrate ‘‘World Health
Day” in which large num-
ber of students ft om local
schools were also present.

A good number of
useful posters, on ’ health
were exhih'ted by the
local Publicity f’nit and
the llural Sanitary staff.
The significance of cele-
brating “World Health
Day!1 and the functions
of the World Health Or-
ganisation were explained
to the public present by

of the local Municipality
and the Public Health

and rural areas

Mazumdar ' congratulated
the staff and the students
of the school, for their
good works, and urged the'
latter to toil hard and
become wort'y sons of
Jfharat Mata. He also
thankel the public present
in tile function and urged
them to think the school
as their own as the pro-
gress of the school depen-
ded much on their co-
opjiation

The Final Match of
the Gressweli Table Tennis
Tourn intent 1053 wus pHi-
yed this evening at the
Cresswell Institute between
Sri A. Banerjee and Sri
B. Bhattacharya before
a large gal hering. Though
Mi Bha'tacharya was
undoubtedly the better
player and smashed what-
ever balls' he could, luck
favoured Sri Banerjee who
won the game at 3 to l.
The match was an Oppor-
tunity to watch some
really good table tennis
after a long time.

sent will be a four page
paper and will sell, in the
market at two pice each.
It will be printed at the
