“ TIGER OF TIGERS "
; TENZING .and Hillary, the conquer-
ors of the hitherto unconquerable Everest
have at last proved to the world the
superiority of human determination
and scientific approach over the loftiest
and the wildest in nature. We, in Dar-
jeeling are particularly proud of the
achievement of ‘Tiger” Tenzing and we
take this opportunity of conveying our
congratulations to him and to members
.of tiis family for his magnificent achieve-
ment. ,
The question of renaming of Everest
will certainly now engage the attention
of the people in authority and we
would like to^suggest that whenever this
question is Taken up' Tenzings natural
claim' to the honour should always be
kept ip the forefront.
The Qovt. of Nepal, the Municipal
Commissioners of Darjeeling' - and the
West Beiigal Govt, have all decided to
accord civic reception to Tenzing on his
return from his perilous, task and we
would appeal to/the people of Kalimpong
also to express thier appreciation of his
glorious success by making suitable
arrangement to invite him here and
greet him with affeetionale heart.
BRAVO HILLARY.........BRAVO TENZING
