the 8th Annuil Session
of Sikkim State Cong ess
will be held at Pak3'ong
on 21st, 22nd 23rd Feb-
ruary 1955. It is under-
stood that in this Session
the State Congress will
dismiss on the following
matters : 1 Next election
and popular Government
for Sikkim 2. Survey of
land and assesment of
land rent and 3. Aboli-
tion of Private and Gompa
Estates and to bring them
under one general admi-
nistration.

AMERICA'S AID TO
NEPAL
Kathmandu, Jan. 20
The United States has
so far spent more than
19 lakhs dollars in aid to
Nepal on various projects.
Disclosing this in the
Nepal Advisory Assembly
General Kaisar Shamsher,
Nepal s Defence Minister,
said that of this amount
more than five lakhs
dollar were on United
Stales technical experts
in Nepal, 1,29,000 dollars
on scholarships to Nepa-
les^ students and Govern-
ment seivants sludyjng in
Uni'ed States and more
than 12 !akhs dollars on
other schemes relating to
pubbc health, agriculture
and education.

NEPAL'S TIES WITH
CHINA WELCOMED

The People's Govern-
ment of China has wel-
comed Nepal Government's
desire to establish diplo-
matic relations between
Nepal and China on the
lines of Panch Shila.
This was disclosed by
the Prime Minister M. P.
Koirala in an interview
here.
Definite steps in this
direction are expected to
be taken after the arrival
of H M. the King in the
capital from abroad. The
friendship pact between
Nepal and France has not
yet been signed. The
French Ambassador at
Delhi for India and Nepal
had been to Kathmandu
in this connection recently

1. The Sindri Fertiliser
Factory produced 30;001
tons of ammonium sul-
phate in October 1954 —
the highest production ob-
tained in any one month
since it began production
three years ago.
2. In 1953-54 India ex-
ported sports goods worth
R-*. 1)1,59 000.
3 During 1953-54 the
Ca'cutta Port handled
goods weighing nearly 9
million tons.
4. In 1953-54 books,
including maps and charts,
worth Rs. 89,16,054 were
imported into India.
