tion was held on 1st July,
1955 at 3-30 P. M. at
Sherpa Building, Kalim-
pong, under the Presi-
dentship of Sri S. N Boy,
Sub-Divisional Offioer^

resignation from the All
India Gorkha League.
The news of my re-
ported resignation from
the office of the General
Seoretary of the A.T.G.L.
appearing in the Press
have calised a great con-
fusion.
I issue the following
statement in order to
dispel doubts and oon-
funions from minds of the
people.
I had submitted my
resignation in protest of
the continuance of the
so called Parliamentary
alliance between the
Gorkha League M. A. As.
and the W. B. C. P. P.
Since the Gorkha League,
in its recent meeting, has
finally decided to break
the Parliamentary alliance,
I have withdrawn my
resignation and have re-
sumed my office as Ge-
neral Seoretary, A. I. G.
L., from date.

VANA-MAHCTSAVA AT
KURSEONG
Kurseong, July 4
A ceremonial function
of the 6th Vana-Mahotsava
was held at the office,
premises of the Subdivi-
sional Officer, Kurseong
on the 1st instant at 11
A. M. Members of the pub-
lic and officers of different
Departments were present
on the ocoasion. The first
two saplings were planted
by Sri S. Mukerjee, S.D.O.
Kurseong. As many as
30 saplings of local chap
& pines were planted at
the Kutohery premises by
the Officials & non-Officials
present.
During the Vanama-
hotsava week saplings &
seedlings of different spe-
cies will be distributed
free of cost by the Forest
Dept to the publio at
the following five placts—
S.D.O., office, Kurseong,
Pankhabari & Sukna Fo-
rest Bange Office, Bugora
Forest Beat office and
Mirik Agricultural Inspec-
tors' Office.
delivered a constructive
as well as enoouraging
speech on the line of
development of the Sherpa
Community, educationally
and industrially,
