Rongo, July 13
The labourers of Cin-
chona Plantation, Rongo
and the Medical Plants
Scheme, Gairibas left their
duties at 10 O'Clock on
Monday the 4th. July,
1955 aud went on a token
strike to commemorate the
death of the martyrs, of
Margaret Hope Tea Estate,
Darjoeling
There was a congrega-
tion of about two thousand
labourers including the
neighboured of surround-
ing locality who paid their
homage to the deceased
by observing two minutes
silence.
An impartial public
enquiry into the Police
firing at Margaret Hope
Tea Estate, Darjeeling was
demanded in a resolution
in the meeting'

was held on 2nd July '55
at - 7 P. M. at the local
Judhabir School Hall. The
meeting was presided over
by Sri S. C. Choudhary.

On July 3 last under
the Presidentship of Sri
Mulohand Agarwal, the
prominent members of the
Hindu Society met at the
local Chamber of Com-
merce and unanimously,
decided to form the Kalim
pong branch of Hindu
Mission. An 'ad hoc '
committee has been formed
with Sri Mulchand Agar,
wal as President and
Messrs. J.B. Sapkota, Nar-
bir Lama. Santudass Pra-
dhan, Sbivaraj Jee. Radha
Mohan Prasad. MotilaSl
Agarwal, Gyan Joytee Pra-
dhan as members.
To initiate any person
to Hinduism and to in-
corparate tbe outcaste and
those who have deviated
from the right path, into
the society after sancti-
fication, are the aims &
objects oi the mission.
On 4th July, one
Panchumaya Rami who
had foreshaken Hinduism
some years ago was recon-
verted to it after sancti-
fioation. The "spddhi"
ceremony was performed
at ' Baghdbara' where
hundreds of people were
present. After the "sud-
dhi", the girl was married
to Pri N. B. Pradhan,
according to hlndu ritoe
were elected President.
