DARJEELING CINEMA
KARMACHARI UNION
Darjeeling, July 18
The following resolu-
tions were passed in ,a
Special General Meeting
of the Darjeeling Cinema
Karmaohari Union held on
July 18, 1955, at Darjee-
ling.

Resolved that the
Cinema proprietors of the
district of Darjeeling be
requested to revise the
rates of emoluments in
keeping with the prssent
heavy cost of living. The
annual bonus may also
be given to all ciue wor-
kers the bonus shall be
equivalent to two months'
salary at the end of year.

Resolved that the
facilities of various
torms of leave, such as
It days a week as per-
missible under the Shop
and Establishment act,
earned leave, sick leave,
casual le.ive etc be made
admissible as per West
Bengal Rervioe Rule and
the working hours be
fixed at 44 hours per
week.

Resolved that the
benefit of Provident
Fund at the rate of
Two annas per rupee as
admissible under the Wist
Bengal Provident Fund
Rule, end also that
adequate provision be
made for free Medical aid

FLOOD OBSERVATION POSTS

IN BHUTAN

Darjeeling, July 26
With the concurrence
of the Government of Bhu-
tan, the Govt, of India
have decided to set up
ten rain and river gauge
stations in Bhutan. Six
of these stations will be
equipped with wireless
apparatus. Nine overseers
of the Irrigation and
Waterways uepartment of
the Government of West
Bengal and six trained
wireless operators have pro-
ceeded to Bhutan on July
20 While the overseers
will come back after esta-
blishing the stations, the
- wireless operators will re-
gain there and transmit
flood warning messages by
wireless.

These gauge readings
will form valuable data
for formulating schemes
for flood control in West
Bengal and Assam.
