Of all these the "Rauwol-

the former being accepted

a great service to people
of the English speaking
world who have connec-
tions with Denmark. It
will also help them con-
siderably in the study of
the classical and modern
Danish literature. I under-
stand that since the
appearance of this first
volume it has been a best-
seller in Denmark, and I
hope we shall not have to
wait too long for the
second half ot the alphabet.
I quite agree with Mr.
Reginald cipink that' One
need know very little
about the subject to see
that the present work is
vastly superior, in every
way, to anything that
has gone before. l''or one
thing the layout-au im
portant point in a large
dictionary-is excellent:
r.one of those slabs of
barely differentiated type
which make the job of
looking up a word like
hunting for a needle in a,
haystack, but good type
well employed and with
wide use of easily recog
ni/.ed signs and symbols
Above all, of course, tho
substance is up to date,
and the number of words
and examples far exceeds
anything in any previous
