The General election of the
Kalimpong Town Hall Commi-
ttee has been announced. Tbis
will be held in the next month.
People who have- seen the Town
Hall will agroe with us when
we say that it hau been very
much neglected and that it
requires thorough repair.

We understand, there is no
difficulty of funds for the pur-
pose. The local Sub Divisional
Officer is the President of the
Committee and the Hony. Secre-
tary too is an enthusiastic per-
son besides being a responsible
Government Officer. Then why
this state of affairs ?

This Town Hall is the
only place in Kalimpong where
important public functions are
held and distinguished visitors

OBITUARY

The death oecured at Cal-
cutta on Monday, the 15th
August 1965 of Sri Sohanlal
Agrawal of Messrs Mukhram
Chhogmul of Kalimpong.
Aged 52, Sohanlaljee was a
prominent business man of
Kalimpong. He is"* survived-
by his widow, three sons
and one daughter.

Mohan Bagan was first
to attack and danger was
created by S. Jtannerjce who
scored all the throe goals, two
in the first half and one after
the refresher.

This was the first time
when any premier team hud
Visited Kalimpong and cred't
for bringing the visitors must
go to the Deputy Commissioner,
Darjeeling, the S.D.O., Kalim-

Gangtok, Aug. 16
Dr. T. Pemba, the eldest
son of the late Rai Sahib
PemBa Tshring, Indian Vice-
consul at Gyantse, Tibet, retur-
ned home, lajt week. He is the
first hillman from Darjeehng
Sikkhu area to ' be qualified as
a doctor in United Kingdom.
It may be remembered that
ho was in London, when his
parents lost their lives in the
Gyantse , flood last year.
