AT SAKYONG
Independence l'ay was
celebrated in a most befi-
tting manner at Sakyong.
On the invitation of the
newly established Gram
Panchayat, the public ga.
thered in good numbers at
the local Sanchen Dorjee
School, where they proudly
hoisted the National flag
while the students of the
school sang the national
anthem. They were then
addresstd by t-hri S. G.
Dorjee, president of the
gram panchayat. who ex-
horted the members of
the public to live up to
the high ideals of Inde-
pendent India. Light ref-
reshments were served
afterwards.

the local school and the
public of Pedong Bazar
most enthustically observed
the Independence day on
the 15th August, 1955
The function was pre-
sided by Sri G. K. Singly
President of the local Pan-
chayet. A procession"* with
joyous shouts proceeded
from Bazar towards the
school and returning through

ral meeting of the Town
Hall, Kalimpong will be
held on the 2nd Septem-
ber, 1955 at 6 P. M. in
the Town Hall premises
to disousB the following

by the undersigned upto
