JUBILEE SCHOOL

That ioefficient manage-
ment can bring about total
ruin to an institution ia be-
coming manifest in the case
of the Jubilee School at Ka-
limpong. It is painful to see
well wishers of the school going
about with tears in their eyes
imploring people to save the
institution which at one time
li ad the reputation of imparting
Very good education.

Recent reports reveal that
quite a large number of stu-
dents are being removed from
the institution on the ground
that the standard of teaching
has deteriorated and discipline
has been cast to the winds.

The teachers, too, do not
seem to be satisfied with the
administration since they do
not get their salary at the
right time and, if unofficial
sources can be relied upon
there is a possibility that tea-
chers may not get their pay
after a couple of months for
lack' oT'Iunds. ! ~~

This is the condition of
the school. Who U to be
blamed for this, it is rather
difficult to say off hand. The
Managing Committee is headed
by the Sub-Divisional Officer,
Kaliinpong and the institution
has the previlege of heaving
a Secretary of the personality
of Sri Gauri Shankar Prasad;
other important people of the
loeality form the full Mana-
ging Committee. The guardians
have a right to call for an
explanation from these people

regarding the tottering condi-
tion of the school; so also caa
the inspecting authorities of the
department of education.

We hear, guardions are
getting annoyed and before they
are compelled to take steps,
which may not be vtry respect-
able for people concerned, we
would request the managing Com-
mittee to take such prompt steps
as would save the institution
from its doom.
