tion of Great Britain was
presented to the meeting
of the general body, 'lhe
membership of the Asso-
ciation has risen to 74.
Professor Humayun
Kabir, M.a. (Oxon1, Sec-
retary, Ministry of Edu-
cation, has been invited
by the University of Lon-
don to deliver two spe-
cial University Lectures
in Education. Professor
Kabir will deliver these
lectures at the Institute
of Education, London
University, on Friday 27th
and Monday 30th April
1956, at 5-30 p. m Pro-
fessor Kabir has also been
invited by the University
of Oxford—Board of
Oriental Studies —to deli-
ver two lectures at Ox-
ford in May 1956, on
Indian Educational Phi-
losophy and Trends in
Indian Education.
I understand some
British and American Film
ooncerns are planning to
produce a film based on
the story of Taj Mahal.
A Bengali Film fan in
London, Mr. Bishu Sen,
has been trying for the
past few years to interest
a British or American
Film concern to produce
suoh a fi'm but it has
not yet materialized. I
shall not be sorry if it
never materialises as I
am strongly of the opi-
nion that an Indian Film
Company should produce
a film on Taj Mahal when
one ci n be sure that the
history will not be twiBted
as happened in the case
of 'Clive of India"; etc—
Besides, I should be hor-
rified to think of Robert
Taylor or Clark Gable in
the role of the Emperor
Shah Jehan addressing
Mumtaj Begum in nasal
American voice aR "Sweetie
Pie."
London's must fa-
mous Publishers of Oriental
books, Messrs. Luzac &
Co. Ltd , have just pub-
lished an extremely in-
teresting and well-illustra-
ted book on "Kathakai i-
thf. sacrkd dance-drama
of mai abar" by K. Bha-
atha Iyer. It is un-
doubtedly must important
and unique monograph
on Kathakali. The author
