strict vigilance on traders

Reports available here
indicate that the Darjee-
ling Distriot football team
made a favourable impres-
sion among the plains
people, by their olean and
sporting play in the Inter-
District Football Tourna-
ment held at Chander-
nagore. In fact the Dar-

favourites of the crowd
and there was much dis-
appointment when they
were unfortunate to loose
in the second round.
Apart from giving much
valuable experience to our
boys the reoent tour helped
to create a feeling of good
will whioh is praiseworthy.
Both Chandan Singh and
Birbahadur two stalwarts
now playing for the

This sudden increase
in the Motor Transport
fares has made the pub-
lic to approach the higher
authorities for reasonable
rates. 'Ihis increase, accor-
ding to Motor Transport
Syndicate, is beoause the
State authorities have re-
duced the capacity of pas-
sengers with very few
luggages. The public are
of the opinion that the
Motor Transport fares in
Sikkim should not exceed
more than -/1/6 per mile
and the State authorities
be requested to increase
the capacity with seaso-
nable amount of luggages.
