boys, the School has
since given training to
77 children; blind and

The Territorial Com-

Colonel I. Palmer visited
Kalimpong for the ccca
sion. Col Palmer paid a
tribute to th* work of
tRe founder Miss Scott,
and made it known that
in regsid for the work
of Miss Scott, the School
in future would be known
as The Mary Scott Home
for the Blind It is the
intention of the -alvation
Army to effect moderniza-
tion of the Home so that
the standard will compare
with modern times.

The fine service ren-
dered by members of the
former managing com-
mittee was referred to,
after which the triple-
coloured standard of the
Salvation Army was
hoisted. Following a Bong
composed by the founder
of the Salvation Army,
William Booth, and ren-
dered by the students,
the new committee mem-

Mrs. 1). Mohan, Mr.
George Morgan C. I. E.,

selfless and sacrificial ser-
vice, of Miss Scott. The
history, progress and pro-
gramme of the Hqme now
in its 17th year was made
known, and reference
made to grants from two
departments of the West
Bengal government. After
conveying thanks to Col.
Palmer and Mrf}or Koer-
ner, Shri S. N. Roy men-
tioned that the concept
of society having changed,
blind and handicapped
persons were no longer
considered unimportant,
but that God-given capa-
cities were now recognised
as meant to be invested
in th«> service and help
of those less fortunate
than ourselves.

The happy and auspi-
cious occassion was
brought to a cloBe with
a song by the junior boys
and girls, a speech by an
ex-student and now Music
