Minister in-Charge, Animal
Husbandry, Veterinary
Services, and Community
Development Departments,
Government i.f Went -Ben-
gal on 6th inst at 11 A. M.
at the Pedong Mela ground
A large number o f
villagers and Government
officials were present on the
occasion. Besides the ex-
hibits produced by the
local people, various Na-
tion Building Departments
of the Government
participated in the Ex-
hibition.
Presiding over a mett ■
ing held on the oooasion,
< Dr. R. Ahmed gave a
review of the achieve-
ments made in the coun-
try during the two Plan
periods. He said that
inspite all the difficulties
faoed by the country,
India is on the maroh.
Speaking "about the Third
Five Year Plan, he said
that various schemes will
be taken up in Darjeo-
ling d is trie -, such as,
Diary development sohemn,
Piggery scheme, oto. He
said that the economic
betterment of the looal
people depends upon the
development of oottuge
industries on which the
Government is paying ade-

Small Savings Schemes
was also held under the

Literary competition,

tion, Baby show, Drama,
Folk Bongs and danoes
were held during the ex
bibitioo period I he cine-
ma Units of the Publioity
Department, and the De-
velopment Block, Kalim-
pong II exhibited docu-
mentary films daily.

The courses provided

divided into twelve week
terms commencing in April.
Typewriting and Short-

a week on Mondays and
Thursdays from 6 p. m.-
8 p. m. The Commercial
Arithmetic class will meet
on Tuesdays from 6 p. m.-
8 p. m. and the Commer-
cial English class on Fri-
days from 0 p. m.-S p. m.
The Headmaster will
interview students who
are interested in enrolling
for' any of the above
