Tenders in sealed covers

are invited bj the Mana-
ger, Government Cinobona
Plantation, Latpanchor,
P. 0. Kurseong, District
Darjeeling, on behalf of
tbe Governor for the State
of West Bengal, for out
ting and carriage of 220
'Pits', eaoh 'Pile' being
1 524m x i 524mxO 6096m
(approximately 98536 Kg
or 985 Quintals) of Fire-
wood for the Plantation
for the Year 1963-64.
The firewood should con-
tain tops and branches
of 'Sour', 'Katus', 'Chi-
lawni', 'Panisaj', 'Angcre'
and similar other B and C
claps types excepting
'Toon'.

The rate per Quiutal
quoted should be inclusive
of all charges (;. e. cut-
ting, carriage from cutting
site to the respective fire-
wood sheds ot the stafft
pilling, payment of royalty
to Forest Dept. eto.) and
should be completed with-
in six months from the
date of acceptance. The
•Pits' should be accurate
in size and should be
without any 'Kari'. Rotten
or burnt piece© will not
be accepted under any
circumstances.

An Earnest money of
R8. 50/- (hupees fifty)
only, in cash should
accompai;y the tender.

The approved tenderer
will have to exeoute a
contract in proper from
and deposit Security
money of Rs, 250/- (Ru-
pees two hundred and
fifty) or 10% of the total
amount of work, which-
ever is more, in the Trea-
sury within fifteen days
after acceptance of the
tender. If the tenderer,
whose tender has been
accepted, fails to comply
with the foregoing condi-
tions, the Earnest money
is liable to be forfeited
to Government. The Secu-
rity money deposited by
a contractor is liable to
be forfeited wholly or
nirtially, if Government
suffers any loss due to
negligence or acts of
commission or ommissicn
on the part of the con-
tractor or his employees
in connection with the
work.

The tender should
reach the Manager, Go-
vernment Cinchona Plan-
tation. Latpanchor on or
b-fore 6-3-63 within office
houra.

The Undersigned is
not bound to accept the
lowest or any tender.

CHINA SENDING FINAL

LIST OF P.O.W.S

New Delhi, Feb. 14

China has informed
the Indian Government
that it was sanding the
last list of jIo Indian
soldiers now in Chinese*
custody This brings . the
total of Indian prisoners-
of-war to 4,057. Of these
715 have been returned.
The figure also includes
13 bodies returned to India
and 10 soldiers who died
in Chinese QUBtody.

The Spokesman of the
External Affairs Ministry
said here today that the
final list of Indian soldiers
who might still be missing
was being compiled on the
basis of the latest Chinese
statement.

In reply to questions
the spokesman said: "we
have not taken any fur-
ther measurers" to seek
the return of the Indian
soldiers now in China
