Fourth Pyramid. — Interior.

There had been a very heavy storm during the night,
and there was rain in the morning. I wrote to Nayler
Bey about some people, who had applied to me on
account of their eyes, but they were not admitted into
his hospital. An officer paid me a visit, and returned to
Cairo.

An excavation was begun for the purpose of ascertaining
the manner in which the roof in the Queen's Chamber
was constructed. Mr. Perring and Mr. Mash arrived.

April 19th.

Mr. Harris, who was remaining in his boat at Gizeh,
paid me a visit.
