Noticed by M. Delisle, and extracts given by M. Paul Meyer in
D Apocalypse en fr. au xine siecle, pp. cxi, cclxii. M. Meyer says
that it closely resembles Bib. Nat. fr. 9574, which was owned by
Blanche, daughter of Philip V of France, who died in 1358.
The two books are nos. 19, 20, in his and my lists of Apocalypses.
The decoration is copious, bold, stiff and rough : often comic. The
cycle of pictures must be classed as of the ‘second family.’ They
are not of uniform size. The largest extend across the text, but
many are confined in breadth to a column. Blue, pink, burnished
gold are the leading colours.
