There are pencil notes and memorial verses on the flyleaves.
The decoration is of very good style. Each book has a small
picture, the breadth of the column. Chapters have decorative
initials: paragraphs, initials in blue with red pen-work. A
partial border occurs on 1 b.
Lib. 1. Blue ground with yellow dots. Pope Gregory bearded,
in conical tiara and red cope, seated on R. Before him a
bearded man in dark habit holds a book : on L. three
bishops in copes and mitres seated.
Lib. II: de ludiciis. Red ground, silver lattice over it.
Bearded man (judge) in slate-coloured habit and cap in
gold chair on R. Two assessors. Before him stands a man
in blue gown with an open book to which he points; on L.
another man in slate-coloured habit and hood.
Lib. III. Blue ground, white network and dark, bars. On R.
altar. Priest before it in red chasuble holds the Host: two
clerks, one behind the other, in slate-coloured vestments.
The one on L. holds up his hands, covered with a linen cloth.
Lib. IV : de sponsadibus. Light red ground, darker red lattice.
In C. priest in blue chasuble joins the hands of a young
bride and bridegroom. The groomsman in blue on R. sup-
ports the bridegroom. Father, on L. in blue, hooded,
supports the bride. Mother in flat headdress behind him,
her hand on the back of a horned cow.
