cut off. It has been bound and neatly mended in cent. xix.

Part of the Old Testament in English.
Begins imperfectly in 2 Paral. ii. 5 or 6. There is a gap
between xii. and xviii. and in xx. 12, xxi. 11. Prayer of
Manasses is cap. xxxvii. Ezra, 2 Esdr. ( = Ne/i.) etc. : gap
in Judith (parts of iv. 13, vi. 6) : in Esther (i. 8—iv. 8): in
Job (iv. 5—ix. 17, xx. 14—xxvi. 13): in Psalms (ix. 7—xiii. 3,
xc. 2—ciii. 14, cix. 5—cxviii. 3): Proverbs (vi. 12—end):
all Ecclesiastes: Cant. i.—v. 9: Sap. Ecclus. complete: Isa.
wants a leaf in xlix. 20—li. 17 : Jer. and Lam. complete :
Baruch wants a leaf in iii. 23—vi. 42 and part of Ep. Jer. (to
which the last leaf belongs, ending in verse 71).
On the last page is a list of the books in red, faint and
incomplete, ending Blissed be j?e holy name. Amen.
There are some late scribbles on margins, but,.I think, none that
throw light on the provenance of the book.
Forshall and Madden, p. xlvi (no. 50): “written probably about
1430: in the Later version with prologues to Isaiah and Baruch.
The textual glosses are numerous and sometimes peculiar: it has
also occasional glosses in the margin. On Isa. liii, 17 is a Latin
note on the word gerfaucun which supposes Wycliffe the author of
the version....The note is in a hand of about 1500.” This note I
have been unable to find.
