Some small portions have been re-written, the original ink
having deteriorated.
Forshall and Madden, p. xlvi (no. 51): written about 1430.
Formerly Askew’s, sold at his auction in 1775, lot 325. In the
later version, with the usual prologues.

1152. Bi blia Sacra.
Vellum, 9^ x 6|, ff. 2 4- 424 4- 2, double columns of 53 lines.
Cent, xiii, late, in a good small hand.
Initials in red and blue flourished.
Rough calf binding with the coronet and shield of Thomas, 2nd
Earl of Stamford (d. 1720). A letter from John Tuckett (66 Gt
Russell St) written in 186-, identifies the arms. In the cover is:
Stamford 1693. His library was sold in 1721.
Presented to the Lambeth Library by Edward Jacob Esq. of
Faversham 1786.
Collation: a2 112 212 38 412-i612 178 | i812~3612 2 flyleaves.
In the cover are some notes (xvii) on the contents. On the
flyleaf memorial verses on the Biblical books.
Troll, of Jerome («) to Paulinus, (£) to the Pentateuch.
Genesis—2 Paral. Prayer of Manasses in a separate paragraph.
Ezra, Neh., Tob., Jud., Esth., Job : a blank page at end.
Psalter, Gallican. List of Cantica added, blank page.

1, 2 Macc. 2 Macc. ends unfinished with xii. 12. Two blank
leaves follow, on the first of which is old pencil writing.
Evv. Paul. Epp. (Laod. follows Col.).
Acts begins 387 b and goes down to iii. 29 (end of quire). On
389 a fresh beginning is made. Ends : mundus iudicari.
Amen.
Cath. Epp. Apoc. (Troll. of Gilbert: Omnes qui pie).
Interpretationes nominum, Aaz: ending unfinished with Assur.
On the flyleaves old pencil writing and a note (xv) from
Augustine.
There are few marginalia, most rubrics have been added, and
there are no uncommon prologues.
Todd in the preface to his Catalogue calls it ‘ a remarkable
exemplar, in which the 8th verse of the fifth chapter of St
John’s Ist Epistle precedes the 7th.’
