A CIRCULAR DISH, SILVER GILT
INSERTED in the raised centre is a gold coin of Ferdinand and Isabella of Spain, issued for
Brabant and struck at Kampen in Holland, where there was a mint of the Spanish rulers.
The centre is covered with foliage in relief, which is separated from the wide border by a
plain hollow section. On the border are figures in rude dress, fighting with bears, a lion and
various winged monsters, interspersed with foliage, all in relief, the edge being plain and
curved. The initials, p.a., are engraved on the back.
Diameter, 2 8 cm.
Marks: p.a. in a rectangle, and other illegible marks.
