A LARGE DISH OF LIMOGES ENAMEL

IN the depression is a scene representing the “ Death of Ananias,” in colours. It is inscribed
on the pedestal, actes chap v. The border is decorated with figures, scrolls and masks, car-
yatides and birds, while the back is covered with a decoration of caryatides and stags, birds
and goats, vases and other obje&s in colours on a reddish-brown background. The decora-
tion on the rim is exactly like that on a dish in the Wallace colle&ion, signed by Martial
Courteys.
