that of the freyles or Knightly Brethren
of the Palms who assisted Alfonso el
Batallador in 1110, their master being
of the
called D. Garcia Sanchez. The learned
Palms
and loyal historian, Pedro Abarca, would
see in these the Order of Santiago, present
in the world and doing God’s service sixty -
five years before any Bull endorses them:
