The coHection consisTs of about 1,000 exhibits including
balances, metal containers, glass containers — such as buret-
tes, calibrated flasks and other glass receptacles with scaled
capacity; weight — brass, cast-iron, glass, porcelain, alu-
minimum; measures of length — of metal or wood; pressure-
measuring instruments; clocks (spring, pendulum, sand and
sundial); thermometers, aerometers and instruments for
level-determining.
The collection also includes photographs presenting impor-
tant moments in the history of metrology, and a library
with works on the history of metrology of various countries
and peoples.
WODZISLAW SL^SKI (Katowice Voivodship)
MUSEUM, 2 Dworcowa Street. Opened in 1971. The Museum
has the following sections: Archaeology, History of Industry
and Culture, Numismatics.
WOJNICZ (Cracow Voivodship, Tarnow County)
THE SEWERYN GOSZCZYNSKI REGIONAL ROOM of the
PTTK. Open to visitors upon request. Inaugurated in 1969.
WOLA GULOWSKA (Lublin Voivodship, Lukow County)
MEMORIAL ROOM at the Elementary School. The exhibi-
tion consists of material pertaining to the battle fought
under the command of General Kleeberg in October 1939.
WOLA OKRZEJSKA (Lublin Voivodship, Lukow County)
THE HENRYK SIENKIEWICZ MUSEUM in the historical
manor house where the distinguished novelist was born
in 1846.
WOLIN (Szczecin Voivodship)
ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM, Bohaterow Stalingradu
Street. Established in 1966. Open daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The collection presents the results of research conducted
in the region of Wolin by the Institute for the History of
Material Culture of the Polish Academy of Sciences, and
concerning the history of Wolin from the 9th to the 12th
centuries.
WOLSZTYN (Poznan Voivodship)
THE MARCIN ROZEK BIOGRAPHICAL MUSEUM.
The Museum collects sculptures, paintings, photographs and
other mementoes of the artist who was murdered by the
Nazis.
THE ROBERT KOCH BIOGRAPHICAL MUSEUM, 12 Ko-
cha Street. Open Wednesdays and by previous arrangement
in the case of group excursions.
Inaugurated in 1958 it occupies one room containing nu-
merous photographs of the great biologist's manuscripts,
paintings, an original prescription written by R. Koch and
period furniture from the 19th century.
