for the Vice-Presidency of the United States. He was prominent
in the counsels of the Episcopal Church.
Hunt’s correspondent, Samuel Bulkeley Ruggles, was commissioner
to determine the route of the Erie railroad, and a director of the
company from 1833 to 1839. He promoted the Bank of Commerce
and was a trustee of the Astor Library. His claim to distinction
rests chiefly upon his canal policy.

General J. S. Tyler, Captain William Treadwell, etc.
Relating to army supplies, saltpetre used for the gunpowder,
the supply of rum, coffee, provisions for the prisoners of
war, drafts of money, pay, etc., during the War of Inde-
pendence. Inlaid and bound in half red morocco. 4to.
