(1) Police.
The Government of India desire to be informed
of the progress that is being made in the intro-
duction of police reforms in the several provinces.
I am accordingly directed to request that, [with

Governor-General in Council may be furnished with
a brief report showing: —
(1) what reforms have already been introduced

;n the Bombay Pre81dency ,
Bengal, etc.

(2) when these reforms were introduced, and
(3) what is their annual cost.
The Government of India will be glad to receive
also a forecast regarding the introduction of future
reforms with an estimate of their cost.
(2) Education.
A statement showing the extent to which the
grants made in 1905-06 had been utilised in in-
creasing the normal allotment for primary educa-
tion, inclusive of the expenditure on buildings and
the outlay incurred through the agency of Local
Boards, the expenditure of 1904-05 being taken as
the normal standard for the purpose.
