Fabrica ecclesiae of the church
and convent of Norbertine Nuns in
Imbramowice in 1711-1740.
New findings regarding the financing
and organisation of the works,
and the artists contracted1

The church and convent of the Norbertine Nuns (Premonstratensians) in Im-
bramowice (see: Figures 1-2) has been mentioned many times in the subject
literaturę of art history. The history of its reconstruction in the early modern
period was discussed both in review works,2 and in the studies devoted to
the culture of this female religious order.3 To this day, the tempie has not re-
ceived a complete monograph in the field of art history. The studies that have
been published to datę focused mainly on analysing the interior of the tempie,
whose harmony, as was argued, resulted from the involvement - confirmed
by the sources - of the Rome-educated architect Kacper Bażanka. The church
was hailed as a flagship example of a comprehensive work of art, developed in
