• On April 4, professor Sebastian Ristow (University of Cologne) gave a guest
lecture on Cologne and Aachen between Eate Antiąue and Early Medieral Times.
Archaeological Research on the Architecture.
• On April 6-7, the 4* National Congress of Young Byzantine Scholars was
organized at his uj by the doctoral students of our Institute.
• On April 11, as part of the “Classics of Art Theory and History” series edited by
professor Wojciech Bałus, a book by Marian Minich Towards a New Type ofArt
Museum was published, edited by Paweł Brożyński and Magdalena Kunińska.
• On April 20-21, a scientific conference of students and doctoral candidates
was held, titled To Recognize the Past in the Present. Heritage Borders organized
by the Jagiellonian University Students’ Scientific Society of Preservation of
Cultural Heritage.
• On April 25, the ceremoniał inauguration of the Interfaculty Centre for Stained
Glass Studies took place, combined with the promotion of the last two volumes
of the Stained Glass Corpusfrom 1800-1945 in the Roman Catholic Churches of
the Kraków and Przemyśl Metropolises (Tarnów and Kielce Dioceses).
• On April 25, during the inauguration of the Interfaculty Centre for Stained
Glass Studies, Sarah Brown (University of York and York Glaziers Trust) gave
a guest lecture The Art of Collaboration: The Conservation of York Minsterś
Great East Window 2011-2017.
• On May 24, the promotion of Jakub Adamskis book entitled Gothic Religious
Architecture in Silesia in the Years 1200-1420. Main Directions of Development
took place.
• On June 6-8, an interdisciplinary scientific conference Death, Burial and Com-
memoration ofRulers in Poland in the MiddleAges and Modern Times was held at
the University of Warsaw Historical Institute, co-organized by our Institute.
• On June 9, Rafał Nestorows book, Czartoryski Castle in Klewań in the Light of
Archival Sources was published as the seventh volume in the series “Materials
for the History of Art and Culture of the 17* and i8th Centuries” edited by
Andrzej Betlej.
• On 25 June, the book of Lech Kalinowski, Helena Małkiewiczówna, and
Dobrosława Horzela, titled Die mittelalterlichen Glasmalereien in der Stadtpfar-
rkirche Maria Himmelfahrt in Krakau. Mit einer kunstgeschichtlichen Einleitung
von Marek Walczak was published as the first volume of the series “Corpus
Vitrearum Medii Aevi, Polen” (the promotion of the book took place on July
18 at the Institute).
• On 11-12 October, a nationwide interdisciplinary scientific conference took
place at the Institute, on Artistic Setting of Holidays and Celebrations in Po-
land, and Related to Poland, until the Year 1939, co-organized by the Study of
Art Committee at the Polish Academy of Sciences. Lectures were given by:
Alicja Wawryniuk (Freie Universitat Berlin), “Annunciation” and “Crucifixion”
Frescoes in Kraków Franciscan Cloisters as the Cult of Mary and its Adaptation
in the Italian Franciscan Ceremonies; Oskar J. Rojewski (Univeristat Jaume 1,
Spain), Adaptation ofthe Burgundy Ritual during the East Jagiellonian Wedding
Ceremonies; Karolina Mroziewicz (Institute of Art History of the Jagiellonian
University) Memory of the Entry of Sigismund iii into Kraków (1587) in the
Eight of Pamphlets and Occasional Prints. The Problem of Representation of an
Artistic Setting in a Printed Medium; Renata Sulewska (Institute of Art History
