Sabatier describes another very rare ventral
hernia in these words: " Quequesois aussi elles
" (boyeaux) se displacent par un ecartement des
" sibres de ce muscle pres 1' anneau."
Another extraordinary form os ventral her-
nia, and which may be looked upon as a lusus
naturae, occurred to my father. He was con-
sulted, along with Dr Farquharson, respecting
the nature of two tumours, which were cover-
ed by the skin alone, on each side os the back
os a child, six months old, immediately under
the salse ribs.
Each tumour, upon an accurate examination,
was sound to contain a kidney, which could rea-
dily be reduced through an oval ring, os a con-
siderable fize.
