Tomb 89.—Deep shaft from which opened out two tombs, one empty. The other, containing
the pottery in Fig. 76, was 8 ft. by 6 ft. by 4 ft. high. On No. 1260, Fig. 76, ante, p. 49, the
crown of the sphinx is unusually high.

Tomb 92.—Gold peronae, Fig. 38 ante, like those from tomb 19, PI. VIII. This tomb contained
also a number of plain gold bands and earrings, five haematite weights, a silver cup (Fig. 33), the
handle riveted on, in shape like the gold cups of Vaphio. No pottery.

Tomb 47.—A bronze sword, Fig. 31, diadems, mouthpiece, porcelain, glass, ivory object and
pottery. This tomb contained about 4 ft. of human bones. Possibly this burial had followed upon
some act of war, but there were no apparent traces of violence on the skulls.
