himself by a kick into touch. Shortly afterwards half time
sounded.

Soon after half time a free kick gained us some more
ground and after several attempts down the touch line on
the left Philip passed all their backs and touched down
almost behind the posts. The goal was successfully
kicked by Burrows2. Philip, Davis, Burrows, Blackwood
and Hawthorn were conspicuous by their play.

The College v. Cannstatt.

Neuenhkim soon took the ball down into our visitors'
25, where it generally stayed, a good pass from Burrows
to Ashby well backed up by Bruce who carried it over the
line—the place however going wide; after this some good
exhibitions of dribbling and passing were given by Cave,
Ashby and Blackwood, but nothing more was scored
before half time. Shortly after half time a good pass by
Philip enabled Blackwood to get behind, but Lucas just
failed with the difficult place. Good runs by Cannstatt
were stopped by the safe collaring of Lucas and Bruce.
A splendid exhibition of passing followed. Blackwood got
hold and transferred to Lucas, who after several feints
supplied Ashby and he Philip; the latter handing off in
characteristic style eventually passed to Burrows and he
to Jamieson, leaving the last named on the line in front of
goal. Shortly after Bruce scored again, in a few minutes
Philip again scored from a good pass by Jamieson, but
Burrows'- place fell short. Nothing more was done worthy
of further notice before " no side " sounded.

Cannstatt played a good game, collaring well and
passing freely; for them Johnson and the brothers Fasnacht
were conspicuous. Of our team Cave and Crookes played
especially well.

The Editor regrets to say that the account of the
Frankfurt match has been lost. But Neuenheim won by
four goals and two tries to nil (24-0).

Mr. Menzies (3), Harrison (2), Philip (1), Messrs.
Menzies and Oliver played for the College as five Army
candidates of the team were unable to play.

The College XI. v. Carlsruhe.

On Wednesday we journeyed to Carlsruhe and upheld
our repute and versatility by defeating the town team
Association) there by three goals to two.
