allowed to ask if there is a verb in tlie English language to
"inforce" and also if " mays " is meant for the French "niais,"
as I know no English word resembling it.

At the end, a list of old Neuenheimers is appended with
wrong addresses, and many mistakes in spelling. If I might
be so bold, I should also like to call attention to the fact that
certain Old Neuenheimers who subscribe to the paper never
receive it; this is scarcely the way to make the journal popu-
lar. Again, it is a pity to see that petty School jealousies find
their way into print, in the form of would-be scathing criticism
against those who did their best to render an evening Enter-
tainment pleasant to those who visited the School on December
the 18th. Hoping that the new " Neuenheimer " will be more
punctual, and an improvement on the last one,

The Correcting of would-be Slanders against the
Neuenheimer.

Dear Sir,

Having seen the slanders against the last Neuenheimer,
which are in the columns of the present Neuenheimer, I
should like to say something which seems to have escaped the
criticiser, viz., That there is only one printer who understands
English in Heidelberg, and being a German he is liable to
make some misprints. Also I fail to see the criticism on those
who entertained the guests of the School on Dec. 18th.
Again, the only reason I can see that makes the journal
unpopular is that everything in it is "stale news.;' Whose
fault is that ? Not the Editor's, but that of those members
of the School who could easily write something for the school
journal, but are too lazy to do so. Also I should very much
