Mr. Benfield got up a strong side to play the College on
Saturday, July 10th, weakened by the absence of B. A. Hill,
Newman, Williams, and Fleming, all of whom had left for
their exams. To crown these misfortunes, Warren badly
inj tired his foot on Friday and could not don the the flannels.
It is noticeable that M. C. Stoker who was included in the
'95 team was playing on this occasion against the School.
Mr. Benfield won the toss and elected to bat, sending in
Kent and Stoker at 2.30 to face the bowling of Bagot and
Hodges. Twenty-four was telegraphed before Stoker had his
bails dislodged by a ball from Hodges. Nicholas came in and
