Neuenheim College v. Heidelberg College.
This match took place on our ground on June 12 th
and resulted in a splendid win for us by an innings
and 44 runs. O'Flynn winning the toss sent our rivals
in first. Wilson and Moore started their innings to the
bowling of Read and Mortimer I. For their first 5
wickets it was a were procession, 8 runs only being
scored with Traill, Waterlow, and Parker getting to-
gether however the score was brought to 36.
Forster and Wright commenced the school innings,
Forster did not stay long however being bowled by
Barker when the score was 7. Read and Wright got
together and then we saw some hitting, Wright hitting
everything. Read was then bowled for a stylish 18, we
had then passed their score. O'Flynn I then came in
with Wright and this pair hit out even quicker than the
other, 55 runs being scored in 1j4 hr. Wright was then
caught, having made a splendid innings of 54 runs, the
highest score this year. At 5.30. Neuenheim declared
their innings closed, we having made 136 for the loss of 5
wickets. On Heidelberg's second venture, 56 was reali-
sed, Parker being top scorer for 17. The whole side
was then out for 56. For Heidelberg Parker batted and
bowled best and for us in batting, Wright, O'Flynn,
Read, batting splendidly.
