owing to the state of the ground, and were unwilling to play
us, although we pointed out that we had had no more
practice than they,^,nd our ground was just as bad as theirs.
Our protests were however of no avail. The inter-College
Sports were a great success, and we are proud of our double
victory.

In conclusion we beg to wish all our readers a prosperous
Cricket season.

Football.

N.C.F.C. v. Frankfurt F.C.

This match was played on the Neuenheim College
ground on Saturday, February 23rd. The ground was very
soft and sloppy, so that it was evident from the first that the
forwards would have to do the w"ork. On the preceding
Saturday everyone was skating ; the thaw commenced on
Monday in a half-hearted sort of way and the snow was a foot
deep. Up to Friday evening it was doubtful if play would be
possible, but, as it turned out, Friday night was quite warm,
and on Saturday the ground, though spongy and frightfully
muddy was found to be fit to be played on. The Frankfurt
team was found to be a strong one and their outsides faster
than those of the school. The state of the ground, however,
was against them, and the College very wisely played a
forward game, keeping the ball with them and following up
fast and dribbling. They made a lot of ground again and
again in this way. The first half was played without either
side scoring, and in the second half the Frankfurt team
