DER NEUEN HEIM ER.

from which Michel (R.K.) getting possession kicked over the backs'
heads and scored a brilliant try Zimmerman took the kick but failed to
add the major points. From the drop out, touch waa found at the half-
way flag. Some tough mid-field play then ensued. Ruder Klub gradu-
ally worked their way towards our line, every inch of the ground being
keenly contested, at length, however Zimmerman was pushed into touch
on the Colleges' twenty-five line. From the line Kunzle (R.K.) got
possession and immediately sent the ball out to his three-quarters. The
ball travelled across the line to Michel, the Ruder Klub right wing
three-quarter, who beat the College wing three-quarter and got over near
the corner. The kick from a difficult position was only missed by inches
by Zimmerman. After this the Colleges began to press and Villares (H.O.)
getting away, looked like scoring, but was stopped by the back. In the
looseplay that followed, Mr. Nicholls (N.C.) shone especially in the clever
way he passed out to the three-quarters. The whistle blew leaving the
score—Ruder Klub, 2 tries (6 points); Combined Colleges, nil.

Among those who call for special mention are, first and foremost,
Dunning (N.C), who played a grand game at full. His tackling and
kicking were throughout faultless. Of the three-quarter line, Crossby I.
(N.C.) and Brown (H.C.) collared and saved beautifully. Smithers (H.C.)
played a good game. Of the forwards, Mr. Nicholls (N.C), Muirhead
(H.C), Brown I. (N.C), and Murphy (N.C), played a good hard game
throughout. Indeed the whole forward line, though opposed to a far
heavier and stronger pack, in fact the strongest pack in South Germany,
worked well and hard to the finish, and were never found wanting.

The Combined Colleges team was as follows : —

Dunning (N.C.) (back) ; Smithers (H.C), Brown (H.C), Crosby I.
(N.C.) and Mr. Jones (N.C.) (three-quarters); Villares (H.C), and
Currie (H.C.) (halves); Mr. Nicholls (N.C), Mr. Wilson (N.C), Muir-
head (H.C), Brown I. (N.C), Murphy (N.C), Collins (H.C), Suarez II.
(H.C), Campbell (H.C) (forwards).

Referee :— Rrofessor Ulrich.
