All nine pits discovered in this level
(Loci 6, 7, 9-13 and Pits 1, 4) were rounded
in plan with diameters ranging from about
1 m to over 2 m. The fill contained pottery in
large quantities, animal bones, flints, small
pebbles and burned soil. Some of them, as
Loc. 9, had sides and bottoms coated with
dried, red mud.
STRATUM II — LEVEL 2
The thick concentration of stone pebbles
present all over the trench had largely
destroyed level 2 of this stratum. The most
important structures belonging to this level
included a white floor/platform and a red
mud structure (Loc. 15). [Fig. 8, top right].
